Hamilton aspires to a value proposition as a “young, dynamic, agile city able to capitalise on opportunity”. The Council recognised the importance of digital technologies in underpinning the city’s growth and development and challenged Voco to develop a digital strategy for the city.
Voco drove a consultative process that uncovered the differentiating attributes of Hamilton and developed them into the Digital Hamilton strategy framework. The framework provides a guiding context for the further development of City Strategies covering aspects of Hamilton’s strategic foundations for growth such as traffic and infrastructure. Voco identified how digital tools could be successfully deployed and demonstrated, and how to draw on these tools to assist economic, social, environmental and cultural development. The subsequent strategy was woven through the Council’s existing business strategies.
Five years on Digital Hamilton remains an anchoring strategy supporting Hamilton City’s economic development. Voco has recently been re-engaged to update the strategy and help Hamilton City Council prepare its Digital Enablement Plan as required by Government.
