Waikato DHB needed to improve communications capabilities to support its district's changing needs.

Waikato District Health Board is one of 20 health boards nationwide. It has over 6,000 employees and plans, funds and provides hospital and health services to more than 391,770 people in a region covering eight per cent of the country.

Waikato DHB tendered for experienced consultants to develop a new Telephony Strategy to support its changing requirements and the planned redevelopment of the Waikato Hospital campus. Voco was selected and the scope of the project widened to encompass all telecommunications.

  • Reviewed the current state.
  • Used our interaction modelling methodology to identify the key business enablers required.
  • Developed a technology architecture.
  • Developed and socialised the strategy.
  • Provided subject matter experts and project management for the transition.
  • Provided subsequent sourcing strategy advice and interaction modelling of the Emergency Department (ED).

Waikato DHB reset the strategy that would enable it to scope and execute ongoing sourcing of telecommunications capability from the market.
